7/18/12- Old Crow Medicine Show- Bootlegger's Boy

Its good to see these guys out with some new tunes..their last album, Tennessee Pusher, came out back in 2008- which is a very long time in the music world. Their new album, Carry Me Back, sounds promising, but unfortunately does not include guitarist/vocalist Willie Watson- one of the more prominent members of the group. In any case, enjoy this solid old-timey tune (all the better with the group busking!)

7/17/12- Delicate Steve- Don't Get Stuck & Africa Talks To You

TOTD- Tuesday DoubleDay Vol. 2. Just heard of this guy through NPR Music's All Songs Considered (which is a fantastic program). His album Positve Force is full of some of the strongest instrumental music that I have heard in a long time. If you are fan of the guitar- especially slide guitar, this is a must listen.

7/14/12- Smokey Robinson and The Miracles- Tears of a Clown

Some weekend tunes coming at you! Such sad lyrics for such an upbeat tune. Enjoy the contrasts of life!

7/11/12- No Doubt- Sunday Morning

Some nice alternative/skaa rock for today. No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom was a pretty big record for me back in the 90's- them along with Reel Big Fish, Gold Finger, Rancid, and Less than Jake are major musical touchstones. I could have gone with the better known singles off this album, but I really dig this deeper cut...plus Gwen is looking pretty damn good in the video.

 

7/10/12- Kid Rock- I Am The Bullgod/ Bawitdaba

New TOTD Feature.....**TUESDAY DOUBLE-DAY**  Vol. 1 Kid Rock was definitely doing something right back in 98. These two tracks are still killer today ...and I still don't care what bawitdaba means.

7/3/12- Grand Funk Railroad- The Loco-motion

With the 4th of July tomorrow here's some music to get moving to. This heat streak seems to have no end in sight, so strip down to your skivvies, dance the day away, and embrace the sweat!

7/2/12- Free Energy- Electric Fever

It's July and hot as all get out. This is a tasty tune to rock out to when you are stripped down to your sweat soaked undies.
